programs offer housekeeping, respite care, home delivered

meals and transportation to persons at risk of nursing home

placement.  Pre-Admission Screening (PAS) assist with place-

ment of an individual in a nursing home or suitable facility

when that individual is no longer able to remain in their home

safely.  Wheelchairs are available on a temporary basis from

satellite offices. The Angel Foundation grants wishes to

terminally ill adults 18 years of age and over.

Hospice provides supportive care for the terminally

ill and their families, primarily in the home.  Physical

care helps control pain and symptoms affecting

the quality of life for those facing incurable illnesses. 

Medical Social Services help clients cope with social,

emotional, and financial upheaval. A spiritual counselor

is available to address spiritual needs and concerns. 

Volunteers offer support as “good neighbors” who are

willing to sit with someone, run errands, or provide a

listening ear.  Bereavement services are provided to

families for at least 12 months following  the death

of their loved one.

BHOC offers a broad range of traditional inpatient and outpatient hospital services as well as providing ambulance services to the community through a contract with the Orange County Commissioners.  These services include Lab, X-ray, Surgery, 24-7 physician staffed ER, Respiratory Therapy, Rehab Therapy – including Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy, sleep studies and ultrasound studies are all offered.  BHOC maintains a birthing center named The New Life Center.  It is a modern, well equipped and nicely decorated obstetrical unit containing LDRP rooms, which means that patients and families normally have the convenience of remaining in the same room throughout their birthing stay.  They labor, deliver, recover and then continue their postpartum stay in this room (exception would be if the mother needed a C-section, and those are performed in the surgery suite).  There is even a large Jacuzzi tub to help mom’s relax.  This often facilitates the laboring process.
