First Steps of Southern Indiana (FSOSI) provides Early

Intervention services to children from birth to age three.

We are in Washington County as well as in fourteen other counties:

Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Gibson, Harrison, Orange,

Perry, Pike, Posey, Scott, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick. 

A satellite office is located in Washington County.  First Steps offers

many services; some of which are: Audiology, Developmental

 Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational

Provides assistance with the application process for the

CHOICE, Medicaid Waiver, and SSBG programs. These pro‑

grams offer housekeeping, respite care, home delivered

meals, and transportation to persons at risk of nursing

home placement. Pre‑admission screening (PAS) assists

with placement of an individual in a nursing home or

suitable facility when that individual is no longer able

to remain in their home safely. Wheelchairs are

available on a temporary basis from satellite offices.

The Angel Foundation grants wishes to terminally ill

adults 18 years of age and over.

Hospice provides supportive care for the terminally ill

and their families, primarily in the home. Physical care

helps control pain and symptoms affecting the quality of

life for those facing incurable illnesses.  Medical Social

Services help clients cope with social, emotional, and

financial upheaval. A spiritual counselor is available

to address spiritual needs and concerns.  Volunteers

offer support as "good neighbors" who are willing to sit

with someone, run errands, or provide a listening ear.

Bereavement services are provided to families for at

least 12 months following the death of their loved one.

Washington County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access

Hospital with 25 licensed beds to serve you through the

following services – 24 hour EMS and Emergency Department,

swing bed program, behavioral medicine, social services, in and

outpatient surgery, orthopedics and physical therapy, respiratory

therapy, cardiac rehab, full-service lab, radiology, mammography,

MRI and CT-Scan with 4-D ultrasound.  WCMH also hosts free

screenings during the year as well as making 17 different medical

specialists available during the month in Salem. WCMH has offices

located in Campbellsburg, Hardinsburg, Salem and our newest facility,

Pekin Community Health Care in Pekin, Indiana.
