Makes referrals for persons 65 or older living on a fixed income to participating doctors who provide medical eye exams and treatment for conditions or diseases and who accept insurance assignment for the senior program.  They also have Glaucoma and Diabetes program.   No additional cost to participants. Hospice provides supportive care for the terminally ill and their families, primarily in the private home or hospital skilled nursing facility. Physical care helps control pain and symptoms affecting the quality of life for those facing incurable illness. Medical Social Services help clients cope with social, emotional and financial upheaval. A spiritual counselor is available to address spiritual needs and concerns. Volunteers offer support as "good neighbors" who are willing to sit with someone, run errands or provide a listening ear. South Central Community Health Care - a service of Washington County Memorial Hospital provides primary health services to people of all ages.  The clinic accepts most insurances, Medicare, Medicaid, and Hoosier Healthwise.  Additionally the clinic offers a sliding fee scale for those who qualify.  CLIA Certified Lab testing, child health care, including developmental screenings, immunizations, sport physicals, annual physicals for men and women, contraception, prostate screenings, flu shots, smoking and cessation program.  Open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  For more information call 472-9230.

Medicaid program provides payment for medical, dental, and eye care, prescription drugs, medical transportation and hospitalization. Hospital care for indigents assists with hospital bills for eligible persons who have no insurance and are not eligible for Medicaid, services for children with special needs provides medical support for congenital handicaps and other specifically eligible conditions. Also offers eye treatment for low-income persons not eligible for Medicaid and Medicaid for pregnant women who may not be eligible for other Medicaid assistance. Volunteers offer support as "good neighbors" who are willing to sit with someone, run errands or provide a listening ear.
