Keep your refrigerator temperature set
at 37-40 degrees and 0-5 degrees for the freezer

Make sure refrigerator and freezer door
seals are airtight.

Do not place a refrigerator or freezer
in direct sunlight or in contact with a hot appliance.

Thaw frozen food in the refrigerator to
help cool the interior.

Let cooked food partially cool before
placing in the refrigerator for storage.

Too many stored dishes in the refrigerator
obstructs air circulation.

Cover and wrap foods to avoid the release
of excess moisture into the refrigerator.

Use small appliances for small meals.

Cook one-dish meals as often as possible.

Use oven to capacity

Cook more than one meal at a time, for
reheating later. Do not preheat oven except for very short baking
jobs.

Use oven more in cold weather.
