- Indiana State Department of Health TB Project
During the fall of 2004, Hoosier Uplands received funding from the CDC/ISDH to oversee the TB Control Project. This funding allows us to employ a Regional Nurse . She assists 45 counties in Southern Indiana in the area of tuberculosis control.
The Regional Nurse works in close contact with the local health departments in case management of suspected or active cases of TB. She is available to help with education for the local health departments and the clients and also assistance with contact testing when needed. She also supplements existing health department staff in their efforts to control tuberculosis.
Hoosier Uplands oversight of the project began in January 2005 and is currently in its fourth year of funding.
