The vision of AgrAbility is to enable a high quality lifestyle for farmers and their families affected by disability.  These disabilities not only include physical disabilities, but also many other conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, and behavioral health issues.  Through education and assistance, AgrAbility helps to eliminate or at least minimize obstacles that inhibit success in production agriculture or ag-related occupations.

Services include on-site assessments, resource center, referrals to other information and assistance, advocacy when needed, public awareness events, training and education, assistive technology devices, caregiver assistance, farmer veteran services, communities of interest, and peer support.

This program is funded through the USDA and is a free service.  Check out our website at www.breakingnewground.org.  There is also a Toolbox of assistive technology ideas on the website.

If you know of anyone who could use these services, contact the AgrAbility coordinator at 812-849-4447.  Its mission is to enhance and protect quality of life and preserve livelihoods.  It's about HOPE.
